18 Taiwanese companies win the DJSI Dow Jones Sustainability Index!
"Highlights" 18 Taiwanese companies are selected for DJSI World or Emerging Markets Index in 2017, associate Professor Hsu Jia-wei(許家偉) made analysis according to the result. The total number of companies on the list is the same as 2016. However, the hard work that many companies have done make us all look forward to the result next year.
87 Taiwanese companies were invited to participate in the 2017 Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) annual competition. 18 companies were selected to claim the reward, among them, 7 electronic and 5 financial companies occupy two-thirds. To the company's current industrial atmosphere and the enthusiasm of enterprises to participate in the competition, the future new list might fall on financial and traditional industries. TSMC has been on the list for 17 consecutive years, the longest record keeping on the list, UMC is moving towards the 10 year milestone.
According to poll results this year, associate professor Hsu Jia-wei made the following analysis:
First, the number of companies selected for the World Index increased from 6 to 10
Second, the international financial industry standards
Third, 2017 issues vary widely
Fourth, the new topic - policy impact (Policy Influence)
Fifth, the new topic - impact measurement and evaluation (Impact Measurement & Valuation)
Sixth, the new topic-human right
Although the total number of companies on the list is the same as 2016; however, due to the hard work that Taiwanese companies have done, we all look forward to the result next year.
